Marine Workshop Manager

We are excited to announce an opening for a full-time Marine Workshop Manager/Technician at our esteemed marine shop. Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of the workshop in collaboration with the management team.
• Perform general servicing and preventative maintenance on outboard motors.
• Carry out installations of outboard motors and accessories, as well as new boat rigging setups.
• Conduct expert diagnosis and repair of mechanical and electrical issues.
• Perform sea trials and testing to ensure optimal performance.
• Adapt to complete other tasks as required by the team.
• Utilize excellent time management skills to meet deadlines.
• Prepare accurate reports detailing all work completed.
• Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment, consistently meeting and exceeding Health and Safety standards.
• Work collaboratively as part of a team while demonstrating effective communication skills.
• Present yourself professionally, showcasing integrity, honesty, and reliability.
• Exhibit initiative and a proactive mindset.

Qualifications:

• A clean NZ driver’s license.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanics; marine experience is preferred but not mandatory. Candidates with backgrounds in motorcycles or automotive are also welcome to apply.
• A positive and forward-thinking attitude, with pride in your work.
• Fluent in English, with the ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively.
• A friendly, team-oriented demeanor coupled with a good sense of humor.
• NZ citizenship, residency, or a current work visa, with relocation to New Zealand.
